{"id":3684,"date":"2022-08-23T13:48:00","date_gmt":"2022-08-23T13:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asiaposts.com\/us-adds-seven-china-related-entities-to-export-control-list\/"},"modified":"2022-08-23T13:48:00","modified_gmt":"2022-08-23T13:48:00","slug":"us-adds-seven-china-related-entities-to-export-control-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asiaposts.com\/us-adds-seven-china-related-entities-to-export-control-list\/","title":{"rendered":"US adds seven China-related entities to export control list"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>WASHINGTON: The United States has added seven China-related entities, mostly related to aerospace, to its export control list, citing national security and foreign policy concerns, according to a US Commerce Department notice published online on Tuesday (Aug 23).<\/p>\n<p>According to a notification posted to the Federal Register,\u00a0suppliers of US materials or services to these entities will need a license before shipping any goods.<\/p>\n<p>The seven entities added to the list are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation 9th Academy 771 Research Institute<\/li>\n<li>China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation 9th Academy 772 Research Institute<\/li>\n<li>China Academy of Space Technology 502 Research Institute<\/li>\n<li>China Academy of Space Technology 513 Research Institute<\/li>\n<li>China Electronics Technology Group Corporation 43 Research Institute<\/li>\n<li>China Electronics Technology Group Corporation 58 Research Institute<\/li>\n<li>Zhuhai Orbital Control Systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Commerce said the entities were added for &#8220;acquiring and attempting to acquire US-origin items in support of China\u2019s military modernisation efforts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>China, which claims democratically-governed Taiwan as its own territory despite the Taipei government&#8217;s strong objections, has been carrying out\u00a0war games and drills near Taiwan\u00a0since US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi\u00a0made a two-day visit to Taipei\u00a0earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>It is also strongly opposed to trade talks between the US and Taiwan, citing its &#8220;One China&#8221; policy which it says is a\u00a0prerequisite for Taiwan&#8217;s participation in economic cooperation with foreign countries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[ad_2]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ad_1] WASHINGTON: The United States has added seven China-related entities, mostly related to aerospace, to its export control list, citing national security and foreign policy concerns, according to a US Commerce Department notice published online on Tuesday (Aug 23).
